Wiki domain[edit]

Hi, I'm MacFan4000, a MediaWiki engineer for Miraheze, it seems that you set forecasting.wiki to be proxied through cloudflare in your dns, (orange/grey cloud). Please note that per https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Custom_domains#CloudFlare, this is against our custom domain policy. Please follow the instructions there to make it be not proxied through cloudflare. If this isn't done within 48 hours, the domain will be removed until it is done as stated in the guidelines. Thank you for your understanding. MacFan4000 (talk) 01:37, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi MacFan4000, thank you for your message and sorry for causing inconveniences. Trying to get this sorted asap and updated the config. The picture shows our current cloudflare config. Does that look right? Grateful for any pointers in the right direction. I also unfortunately didn't manage to set a correct entry for www (currently www.forecasting.wiki is not accessible securely). Thanks again!

Your wiki is currently setup to use forecasting.wiki not www.forecasting.wiki. You would need to remove those proxied A and AAAA records and add a CNAME. MacFan4000 (talk) 12:19, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
Ideally we would of course like to be able to use both. The current setup sends me to miraheze when I go to www.forecasting.wiki (albeit through a non-secure connection).
So the way to do it would be to have a CNAME entry with name www and content www.forecasting.wiki? And delete the current A and AAAA entries? Nikos (talk) 12:56, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
You’ll want to have a CNAME for both www and the root domain. Then you can open a task on phabricator.miraheze.org to have us redirect www to the root domain (or the other way around, whichever you prefer). MacFan4000 (talk) 18:09, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
and both CNAMEs would point to mw-lb.miraheze.org? Thank you for your help!
Also I turned off the proxies now everywhere. Is the original issue resolved? Nikos (talk) 16:15, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes, it’s good now. MacFan4000 (talk) 00:46, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
